Blogery’s Guide to Blogging

Do you have ideas, opinions and stories to express? Are your suggestions rejected just because people think you are not old enough?

Well if you have been a victim of such problems, congratulations you have landed  at the right place!
Today, worldwide public expression has taken a sharp turn altogether. Enormous number of speeches are delivered, debates made, roundtable discussions are done and TED talks are held to vocally share opinions on several alarming and interesting topics; people share their views in public interest via essays, articles, books, magazines etc. But all of these after all are very formal and requirement based; moreover, mostly learned people engage more in writing articles, books etc, people who have achieved something in lives deliver these TED talks and speeches; youngsters only do it in only when there is some speech competition, debate competition, MUN etc.

Blogging comes in place when an individual out of intellectual curiosity wishes to deliver some interesting insights, viewpoints, notions on any movie, experience, self researched topic, ongoing discrepancy around the world , general problems and much more informally; so that the reader resonates with the writing more.

HOW DO YOU WRITE AN INTERESTING BLOG?

Begin by finding an interesting theme for your blog ; ensure that the theme is youth-oriented ( since Blogery is a youth voicing website). Often people confuse theme with title, but they actually are different. Theme is like a chocolate in which there are several ideas based upon a specific topic just like the different blocks of a chocolate but all of same flavor; whereas, title is  a collection of very selected words  which attract people to read the blog. The challenge that comes the way in a quest to find the perfect theme is sometimes that theme which you find interesting ,you assume might not be interesting for other people; while at the same time the theme which you feel everyone would be interested in, you assume that its is too common and everyone would write about it. And this is an extremely genuine problem! You shall just ensure that your theme is holistically centric to a single topic and resonates with you and fits in the available genres the website has. You shall like your blog’s theme and should have both authentic and well researched information about it. The more you like the the theme, the better you research about it ( out of curiosity) and more authentically you write. But make sure your theme should be in accordance to your target readers ( youth: at Blogery).

Search for a unique element in your blog; many people might have written and researched about a similar or same theme on the web but what makes your stand out? Your personal notions and authenticity along with the best chosen elements from many other writings on the same theme which you discovered during your research for the blog makes your blog stand out. You have a freedom to be informal; make use of it! Use slangs in the blog, more than delivering an idea talk the idea to the reader.

Writing a blog is probably the easiest, fun and it is interesting to read when compared to any other form of writing. Add interesting examples, analogies, very short ( two liners) anecdotes, easy language- slangs, commonly known abbreviations, exciting words , hyperbolic words etc. to your blog. Some infographics can also be used in the blog whenever required to help the reader draw image of the writing in the brain.A blog has no particular word limit, but it shouldn’t be too short or long; a word limit of 400-500 fits good for a blog generally but it can go on wherever the idea takes.

Make sure to break your blog into paragraphs for easier read and make the first paragraph as authentic and interesting as you can. Ask questions, make statements; make the reader brainstorm and the reader will look forward to knowing what’s next. Insure that all your paragraphs seem linked, the first line of the second paragraph should resonate somewhat with the fist paragraph- but it does not have to be a repetition: it has to be a new but linked idea. Every line of your blog should be fun to read and should leave a lasting impression of your blog. Don’ t forget All’s well when ends well !!

Then comes the title, don’t think of a title in the beginning- leave it for last! Title is like the ambience of the hotel which brings you towards it; It has to be the best. To make the best title look for some really selected words which are related to the topic of your blog. The title does not always have to consist of some important words from the blog; it can be something related to them. It might also be a single word or name of some famous incident  related to the theme which gives the zest of the whole the the blog. Your title might also be a question but with selected words and very less number of words. Your title defines how good your blog is!

Most importantly, the featured image, most people do not put efforts to find the best featured image for the blog- and it is a mistake. Find  a very good looking interesting image which will make the reader open the blog that very instant. Featured image is an opportunity to attract more readers! Most people judge the book by it’s cover! Make the cover stick!

Let your blog get blogging!
